Bel Canto means "beautiful singing" in Italian; it's also the study of the art of singing as founded on the school of Nicolo Porpora. At Authentic Bel Canto, Ewan Hambrecht Mitton, with a pedagogy line three steps from its founder, has made it her life’s work to study, master and teach this technique. At the urging of her vocal students, she's written down her teachings on this disappearing art, with the hopes of passing on this legacy to generations of future vocal teachers and students.

Cal State Fullerton’s School of Music has been fully and continuously accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1966. Students receive a great deal of one-on-one and small group attention in a School of Music that is large enough (a little over 400 majors) to provide extraordinary opportunities, but small enough to ensure that all music majors have a high-quality, individualized experience. The average student-faculty ratio is less than 15:1 for all major classes, and is usually smaller for upper division and graduate music major classes.
