Bio: Marisa del Campo (soprano) is a singer, actor, teacher, and coach in New York City. She received a Bachelors of Music from the Peabody Conservatory and a Master’s degree in musical theater with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at New York University studying with Matthew Shepard Smith and Dr. Brian Gill. As a singer and actor favorite roles include Jennifer in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Jen in Andrew Lippa’s John and Jen, Jenny in Berlin to Broadway (Dal Norris, Stan Tucker) as well as Bunny in John Guare’s House of Blue Leaves (John Astin and Peg Denithorne). She also premiered the role of Melody in the off-broadway workshop of Casual Bob. Select opera credits include The Furies, Die Zauberflöte and her critically acclaimed performance as Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. In a glowing review, The Baltimore Sun’s Tim Smith wrote, “With an arsenal of facial expressions and telling body language, del Campo's portrayal overflowed with personality… [a] consistently appealing vocalist, producing a warm, smooth sound.” Marisa has toured with The Amalfi Coast Music Festival where she performed in Die Zauberflöte at the Serici Theater of the Royal Belvedere Palace - San Leucio (Caserta). Marisa has collaborated on concerts that included arias, art songs, and musical theater material. She has performed with Grammy nominated artist, Chandrika Tandon, as well as singing at Carnegie Hall under the baton of John Rutter. She has written, self-produced, and performed numerous cabaret shows, the two most recent being, Somedays and Decades. Marisa has been on faculty at New York University since 2010 as an adjunct professor of voice in addition to being the coordinator for vocal pedagogy and the program administrator. Her students have been seen in Broadway musicals, National and International tours, studio and award winning independent films, television, and theater festivals. Many of her students have been accepted to prestigious programs at schools such as NYU, Cap21, Elon, University of Rhode Island, Pace, Marymount, FSU, Northwestern, BoCo, The New School, AMDA, Tulane, Loyola Marymount, and Oklahoma City University. Marisa is a certified yoga instructor specializing in Vinyasa Flow and has been researching and developing methods to connect breath and movement to singing and acting technique to enhance mindfulness and awareness while performing.
