Friday, July 4 • Spirit of Boston Lunch Cruise on Boston Harbor

Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be purchased with registration as seating is limited.  Your ticket for this special event will include a lobster lunch buffet, and seeing the annual USS Constitution turn around, as well as spectacular views on the waterway.  Step aboard for a truly engaging experience filled with grand buffets, non-stop entertainment, dancing and breathtaking views aboard our three enclosed decks and one open air deck.  Kick back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds on Boston Harbor during your three hour cruise!

Bus transportation has also been secured for those conference attendees participating in the lunch cruise. The bus will depart from and return to the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

Saturday, July 5 • NATSAA Finals

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Salons E & F

The NATS Artist Awards Competition is open only to NATS members and students of NATS members. Preliminary competitions are held at the district and then regional levels, with one winner emerging from each of the 14 NATS regions, in addition to an at-large entrant. The 15 semifinalists will gather in Boston for the semifinal and final rounds of the competition. First prize is awards more than $13,000 in cash and prizes.

Sunday, July 6 - NATS Leadership Summit Luncheon

This event is by invitation only

Time: Noon to 2 p.m.

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Salon G

This event is for all NATS Board of Directors, Foundation Board Officers, and all NATS District Governors and Chapter Presidents.  This event is an important opportunity for chapter and district leadership to receive training in how NATS works as well as to provide input to national leaders and staff on the work of NATS.  This will be your opportunity to network with other officers, ask questions, and learn! 

Sunday, July 6 - Andrew Garland - 2012 NATSAA WINNER

American baritone Andrew Garland has been saluted by The New York Times as having a “distinctly American presence” with a “big voice” who is “an able and comfortable performer, and a sincere one.” Equally at home in opera, concert and recital, he brings to each genre a powerful voice and extremely sensitive delivery.

Sunday, July 6 - National Music Theater Competition Finals

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Salons E & F

The National Music Theater Competition seeks to find the best emerging music theater soloists, those who just need that one break to move their careers forward. Approximately 24 singers advance to the semifinal and final rounds in Boston. The winner takes home $5,000.

Sunday, July 6 - Jacob Keith Watson - 2012 NMTC WINNER

In recent years, Watson has performed roles in numerous mediums and genres. In February of 2013, Watson made his European debut with the Kurt Weill Festival performing in a Broadway concert titled New York, New York, conducted by Maestro James Holmes of London.

Monday, July 7 - National Student Auditions Finals

For the first time, NATS Student Auditions have gone national! 42 singers from around the world will advance to national semifinal and final rounds. More than $30,000 in prizes will be awarded.

Monday, July 7 - Intern Program Reunion

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Boylston Room

This event is an opportunity for all those who have participated in past Intern Program events to gather together and catch up with one another.  Everyone is encouraged to bring a lunch to the meeting.  All past interns and master teachers are encouraged to attend. NATS will provide a drink and dessert.

Monday, July 7 - Art Song Composition Recital

The biennial Art Song Composition Award will be selected leading up the 53rd NATS National Conference in Boston. The winning composition will be performed for conference attendees.

Monday, July 7 - Thomas Hampson - Featured Guest Artist

Tuesday, July 8 - SNATS Gathering

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Boylston Room

This will be an opportunity for all SNATS members and their advisers to get together to network, ask questions and talk about future plans for their chapters, as well as a dedicated time to meet with Discretionary Funds and Field Activities Vice President Mitra Sadeghpour.

Attendees will need to bring a lunch and NATS will provide a drink and dessert.

Tuesday, July 8 - Gala Banquet and Dance Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of NATS

Time: 7:30-11 p.m.

Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place - Salons E & F

Come join us on July 8th and celebrate the 70th Anniversary of NATS.  We will be featuring the nationally recognized high energy White Heat Swing Orchestra!

The White Heat Swing Orchestra is nationally acclaimed as one of the hottest swing bands in the country today. The band was a major pioneer in the revival of swing and lindy in the 90’s. It performed for nearly two million fans at Boston night club, the Roxy, over four years, and was the first swing big band to receive Boston Magazine’s “Best Dance Band” award. WHSO has backed up Tony Bennett and Cab Calloway at the Roxy, and Norah Jones at Lincoln Center and recorded for Warner Brothers and Walt Disney, and was profiled on CBS News Tonight.

Tuesday, July 8 - Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park

For those conference attendees who have elected to not attend the 70th Anniversary banquet and gala during the 53rd NATS National Conference in Boston – or for whose family members will not be attending – an option exists to take in a Boston Red Sox game in a section specially reserved for NATS! Seats have been reserved together for $28 each on Tuesday, July 8. Game time is 7:10 p.m. against the Chicago White Sox. These Red Sox tickets can be purchased through the NATS website for $28 and will be included in your registration packets at check-in. All orders must be received by NATS no later than noon ET on Tuesday, May 13.
