About Matthew Hoch

Hoch-headshot_copy.jpgMatthew Hoch is Associate Professor of Voice and Coordinator of Voice Studies at Auburn University. Prior to that appointment, he served as Assistant Professor of Voice and Coordinator of Voice Studies at Shorter College. He is the author of A Dictionary for the Modern Singer (Rowman & Littlefield, 2014) and Welcome to Church Music & The Hymnal 1982 (Morehouse, 2015). He is coauthoring a third book, Voice Secrets: 100 Performance Strategies for the Advanced Singer, which will be released in 2016 by Rowman & Littlefield. Dr. Hoch was recently named editor of the So You Want to Sing Series, a joint venture between Rowman & Littlefield and NATS. He holds the BM in from Ithaca College, MM from The Hartt School, and DMA from the New England Conservatory. He is the 2016 winner of the Van Lawrence Fellowship, awarded jointly by the Voice Foundation and NATS.
