This showcase will feature a variety of works by beloved American composer Gwyneth Walker (who will be present in the audience). Moving from the early Though Love Be a Day (1979) to the more recent Songs from the High Sierra (2014), this repertoire includes songs for all voice ranges. Soprano Michelle Areyzaga, noted interpreter of the music of Gwyneth Walker with her CD, “The Sun is Love,” will headline an outstanding list of Chicago-area vocalists performing on this program. For those who enjoy lyrical, romantic, adventurous and humorous songs, this showcase is highly recommended!
