I received the Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Vocal Performance from Belmont University, where I first discovered my passion for pedagogy, and began teaching at W.O. Smith School of Music. I received the Master of Music degree in Voice from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have a well-rounded experience in singing, acting, and movement, which helps me to approach other issues of musical performance. I love the Alexander Technique and yoga, both of which inform my physical approach to singing. I have even studied methods to cultivate fearless performance and sharpen your mental game with the professional sport psychologists.
Former Artist in Residence with Opera Carolina, gaining real-world performance experience, both on the main-stage and in an educational capacity. Roles have included The Queen of the Night, First Lady, and First Spirit in The Magic Flute, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Despina in Davies' Three Little Pigs all with Opera Carolina; Sand Man and the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel with LOCO Charlotte, and supporting roles with Marble City Opera. With the Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival in Italy, I appeared in concerts and sang La Zelatrice in Suor Angelica. At the University of Tennessee, I sang Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium, Emmie in Albert Herring, Susanna (cover) and ensemble in The Marriage of Figaro.
