NSA Generations 2026

Since the National Student Auditions began, NATS has welcomed over 5,500 students and their families to the semi-final/finals round of auditions, held across the United States at various locations. NATS recognizes the commitment to voice education these students and families have made by their participation in the National Student Auditions. We are pleased to honor this special group of NSA alumni by welcoming them into the new, NSA Generations Alumni Program (GAP)!

The NSA Generations Alumni Program (GAP) is a vibrant group of former and current student auditioners, as well as their families, interconnected through their commitment to receiving artistry feedback, growing their musical talents, and pursuing their vocal performance goals. All members will have the opportunity to join a supportive network among their musical peers to connect and share career advice, actively volunteer at the NATS National Student Auditions each year, and/or support the growth and student-impact of NSA through philanthropic gifts, if they so choose.

The NATS NSA Generations Alumni Program is off to a great start with exciting news to share. Beginning this September, our Alumni Group will be holding quarterly, virtual meet-ups via Zoom. These meet-ups are a wonderful opportunity for alumni and their families to:

  • Build a network of supportive peers
  • Discuss next year’s 2027 NSA Program

Each virtual meet-up will feature special guests who will present on a variety of topics such: audition technique, supporting your child singer, and more!

2026 Ginsburg Repertoire Prize

In honor of the late composer Gerald Ginsburg, a prolific composer who set hundreds of poems to music in his 50 years of artistic output, The Ginsburg Repertoire Prize was awarded to 21-year-old soprano, Tiana Oberoi, from Bangalore, India. This inaugural prize of $1,000 is awarded to a student in the Post High School Classical categories who performs at least one of Ginsburg’s compositions in the YouTube, semifinal or final rounds, and is made possible through a $25,000 contribution from the Ginsburg Foundation to endow the prize, ensuring its continuation for years to come. Watch Tiana's performance at the 2026 National Conference in San Antonio below.

3 pillars

THREE PILLARS of the NSA Generations Alumni Program (GAP)

I. CONNECTION

As students, learn, grow, and advance in their vocal studies, the path to a musical career or any career can be filled with bumps, turns, and curves. As a member of GAP, students and their families will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, create connections, and network with their musical peers as they pursue their passions.

II. VOLUNTEERISM

NATS loves to hear from students and their families who describe the positive experiences and transformative life-skills they gained from participating in NSA. Members of GAP are encouraged to visit NATS yearly auditions to attend, volunteer with NSA staff, and cheer for the current student auditioners. NATS welcomes any members willing to donate their time as room monitors, check-in assistants, and task runners, etc. NSA is held at various locations across the United States each year. We will be coming to a city near you soon!

III. PHILANTHROPY

All philanthropic support raised from the NSA Generations Alumni Program (GAP) will support NATS NSA Fund.

The NATS NSA Fund supports the creative, logistical, and practical costs of producing the NATS National Student Auditions Competition at the semi-final/final levels each year. These include but are not limited to student awards, named prizes, venue rental fees, collaborative pianist expenses, piano rentals, and audio/video equipment. By supporting the NATS NSA Fund, donors are creating opportunities for more students, from around the world, to gain valuable life and performance skills by competing at the semi-final/final levels. Increasing prize amounts, hosting competitions at diverse venues, and providing advanced technology will allow the NATS National Student Auditions to positively impact more families for years to come.
