Title: Voice & Alexander Technique Teacher
Bio: Fanny Lora is a classical singer and certified Alexander Technique teacher. She specializes in Spanish/Latino repertoire and her genuine interpretations successfully bring the repertoire to life for the audience. Fanny is an active recitalist who also enjoys singing in private, public events, and operas. The Alexander Technique has been crucial in deepening Fanny’s understanding of the voice, and as a result, it has given her a more holistic approach to singing and teaching. Fanny is passionate about providing students with the tools to respond to their lives’ demands with more ease (body+mind+spirit) through the verbal and hands-on nature of the Alexander Technique. Fanny has extensive teaching experience. She has worked with Metropolitan Opera Guild teaching music in Spanish at the Joseph Hurley School, with Boston Children’s Chorus as Teaching Fellow and Social Framework Liaison, and with Boston City Singers as Chorus Manager. Fanny's commitment to the arts led her to serve as Chair for MetroWest Opera's Executive Board during the 2016-2017 season. She is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory at Berklee's Alexander Technique Training Program and holds Vocal Performance and Music Education degrees from Ithaca College.
