Title: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

Bio: Dr. Natilan Crutcher is a performer, voice teacher, composer, and minster born and raised in Hermitage, Tennessee. She received her BA in Voice Performance at Lipscomb University and her MM and DMA in Voice Performance at West Virginia University. As a teacher, she has had the privilege of teaching children and adults at the West Virginia Community Music Program and she served as an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at West Virginia University. As a performer, she has performed a wide range of genres such as Pop, R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Spirituals, Musical Theatre, Art Song, Oratorio and Opera. As a composer, she has been fortunate to have her works performed by students in recitals and concerts at Lipscomb University. During her collegiate studies, she performed in numerous recitals and competed in competitions such at NATS, and The Spirituals Voice Competition. She was the recipient of the Performer of the Year award in 2013 at Lipscomb University. She has performed mezzo-soprano and soprano roles such as Carmen (Carmen), Hänsel (Hänsel and Gretel), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), and Mrs. Gobineau (The Medium) and has been fortunate to work with international performers and teachers such as Gustavo Halley and Marcello Cormio. As a minister she is a strong advocate for community service and outreach and has performed and shared the gospel with churches in Tennessee and West Virginia. She has served as a member of the choir and praise team at churches such as First Baptist Hopewell, Hall Memorial, and Restoring Life Ministries. Her ministry is to share the truth of the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ in all that she does professional and personally.
