Job Description / Duties

The Voice Department within the Performance Studies Division, College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, seeks an experienced Artist/Teacher of Voice beginning in August 2021. We are seeking male vocal ranges, with tenor or baritone preferred. The CCM Voice Department is comprised of approximately 100 majors in BM, MM, and DMA programs, and teaches advanced student singers in the Artist Diploma Opera program. In addition, the Department offers instruction to majors in CCM’s renowned Musical Theatre program.

Responsibilities: Voice teacher in residence. Emphasis will be placed upon applied studio voice teaching. In addition, qualification for teaching voice-related subjects such as Graduate Vocal Pedagogy will be considered. Fluency in Italian, French or German is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the discipline through performance, external teaching, and other related professional activities; to serve the college/university/community; and to advise and mentor students.

Terms of Appointment: Tenure-track appointment. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and university teaching experience with undergraduate students in addition to graduate and/or professional level singers. Must possess a significant professional performance background, and a demonstrated record of student accomplishments at the undergraduate, graduate and/or professional level.

Additional Qualifications: A terminal degree and/or commensurate professional experience, university-level teaching experience, national and international professional performance experience as a soloist, experience teaching voice-related subject coursework, and familiarity with emerging teaching technology.
