2021 National Student Auditions
North Central Preliminaries
In addition to offering classical and music theatre categories for singers ages 14-30, we are adding 3 new, non-progressing categories this year! Children and Youth, ages 8-14, may participate in our regional NSA. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded VISA gift cards of $75, $50 and $25 respectively! Help spread the word to our members, or if you know someone who is not a NATS member but who runs an independent studio for younger singers, please encourage them to join NATS and enter their students!
2021 is also the year for students to enter the American Negro Spiritual Categories for high school, lower and upper college singers. Check the NATS national website for more details.
All teachers entering students must serve as adjudicators for participants. Assignments will be made as soon as all video links and repertoire have been checked.
The timeline for video submissions is as follows:
February 1 Registration opens
Fees: $25 for the first category, $10 more for the second entry, and $5 for the third category if applicable. If a student is only entering the Spiritual category, they will only be charged $5 to encourage participation in this new event.
March 1 Registration/upload of videos closes at midnight
March 15 Semi-finalists (if necessary) will be announced
If there is not a need for semi-finals, the top 5 singers from each category will be announced and will automatically qualify to enter NATS NSA. Singers must present the same repertoire in the nationals as they did in the regional rounds.
April 9 National registration closes at midnight
