Title: Voice and The Alexander Technique
Bio: I am passionate about teaching Voice and the Alexander Technique. Combined, those methods can profoundly and quickly help you learn how to help yourself every day. I consider myself fortunate that my training gave me the tools to observe you in activity and with gentle instruction and hands-on help, enable you to change habits that may have caused vocal/physical strain and pain, and to move toward greater balance and ease, thereby, freedom and beauty of tone. I believe in a relaxed, fun, engaging atmosphere for learning. I strive to meet you where you are and help you grow toward better use of your ‘self’. Whether you want to improve your vocal technique or have learned habits over the years that have caused dysfunction and pain, or have suffered an injury, illness or diagnosis that limit your abilities, I can help by providing you with the tools to help yourself. I have presented workshops around the country on the Integration of Vocal Technique with Body Awareness, and on the Alexander Technique (AT). I hold a Masters and Doctorate in vocal performance and pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and am a certified teacher of The Alexander Technique.
