In addition, Dorothy Duensing is Professor of Voice (part-time) at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI since 1999. She is Director of DTE Singers (formerly Detroit Edison Glee Club) which meets May - December on Mondays from 7 PM - 9 PM in the Social Hall of Berkley First United Methodist Church in Berkley, MI; a "freelance" Music Minister/Organist/Adult Choir Director, Professional Mezzo-Soprano/Contralto Soloist/Section Leader for Fort Street Presbyterian Church of Detroit, MI & Temple Israel of West Bloomfield, MI. She is a Teacher of Private Voice (Beg.-Adv.), Piano (Beg.-Int.), Private Drama Lessons (K-Adulthood), and Trained Adjudicator for Vocal Solo and Ensemble Festivals, Competitions, Workshops & Choir Retreats. Dorothy Duensing is a Certified through June 30, 2024 by the State of Michigan as a Professional Teacher in K-12 Music (JX) and 7-12 Speech (BD), which includes the ability to teach classes in Drama and Public Speaking. She holds Orff Schulwerk Music Certifications in Levels 1, 2 and 3, the Basic Diploma in Music Ministry (Organ) from Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and full Memberships in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), American Guild of Organists (AGO) Detroit & Ann Arbor Chapters, Sigma Alpha Iota - International Professional Music Fraternity's Detroit Alumnae Chapter, the Tuesday Musicale of Detroit and P.E.O.
