She is a leading authority on the music of Polish post-romantic composer, Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937). She has articles and reviews among her publications, recordings, and numerous concert and recital engagements (Weill Recital Hall, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, DC), among others. She is the founder and director of The Children's Rhymes Project (CRP), a multifaceted Polish music project for singers centered around the song cycle Rymy dziecięce (Children's Rhymes), op. 49 nos. 1-20 composed 1922-23 by Karol Szymanowski to the poetry of Kazimiera Illakowiczowna that also includes an international children's illustration contest for children in grades 2-8 (ages 7-14). Her forthcoming (2021) recording of the op. 49 songs with Dr. Tomasz Robak, piano, features the songs sung in Polish and in her English score translation (with Maksymilian Krzak, Celia Larkin, Eileen Cornett, JoAnn Kulesza, et al). In addition to Kafka-Price's recording of the songs in Polish and English, the project includes a guide to learning the songs in Polish with IPA, a word-by-word translation, verbal exercises in Polish, intoning of the songs in rhythm, the piano accompaniment, and a score of the songs featuring Kafka-Price's English score translation. Forthcoming in 2022. Please visit www.singinpolish.com to view an example of her work for singers. Kafka-Price's students participate in Maryland State Music Teachers Association (MSMTA), All-State, and NATS competitions and events among others. Her students have appeared on Broadway, in Broadway national tours, in film and on television; some just like to sing for pleasure.
