Jean-E. Morris-Hudson mezzo-soprano Jean-E. has been performing and teaching in Ottawa area.Solo performances this year were in Ottawa for the St. Lukes Concert series,Clash of The Divas collaborative in the fall,and at the Chateau Laurier,as well as a Gala for both Ottawa Choral Society and The Anglican Church Women. In previous roles she has sung in Calgary as Mother Superior ,Sound of Music;Mainstage ,Okotoks;Miss Stacey in Anne of Green Gables;Dolly in Hello Dolly,St. Peter's Players;and with heritage Park Players as The Dragon in Alice Through The Looking Glass.
She has sung with The Orpheus Society,Ottawa;festival Ottawa Opera chorus,in Eugene Onegin;Opera Hamilton in Lucia as Alice in Lucia, and was awarded a concert with The Duet Club of Hamilton.Other past performances were with Opera Hamilton Chorus in la traviata,manon Lescaut,Carmen,La Boheme and Andrea Chenier.recently she has sung as mezzo soloist for The Bach B minor Mass under the direction of Brad Mills.She has worked with Pellegrini Opera as soloist and stage manager.Her debut solo recording ,Reflections and Reverie is a tribute to women who supported her artistry,and is a classical variety of favourites.
She has sung the role of Berthe from Rossini's Barber of Seville for Opera By Request for Opera By request in Toronto and staged and costumed for Pellegrini Opera ,Ottawa.her concert for St. Lukes Series "Fall Into baroque" had one of the series largest audiences. A Burns concert for an Ottawa Choral Society evening in honour of Robbie Burns and the role of Charlotte from Massenet's Werther in Toronto and Ottawa for Opera By request were highlights of the past few seasons.
This season's highlights will include the role of Giovanna for Pellegrini Opera's production of Rigolletto and Cornelia in the opera Julius Caesar,with ottawa collaborative and Opera By request,Toronto.
