Bio: Mary Brown Bonacci (mezzo-soprano) Is an active artist in Western New England, Boston and New York. She has appeared as guest artist with the Pioneer Valley Symphony (Elegy for JFK/Dido’s Lament) and with the Hampshire Choral Society (Vaughan Williams Cambridge Mass, Bach B minor Mass, Mendelssohn Paulus). This fall she appeared with Revolutionary Voices in Boston (Die Mutter), the Park Avenue Armory Gala in New York with the National Broadway Chorus, and with the enCanta Collective in New York for Frank Bridge’s The Christmas Rose. Her operatic roles include Carmen (Carmen), Regina (Regina), Mary Stone (Devil and Daniel Webster), Buttercup (HMS Pinafore), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), Principessa (Suor), and a menagerie of animal roles in opera for young audiences. She has appeared with opera companies across the United States including Des Moines Metro Opera, Kansas City Lyric Opera, Pine Mountain Music Festival, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Ozarks, Granite State Opera, Salt Marsh Opera. She has served in faculty positions at Millikin University, SUNY Potsdam, Amherst College and Franco-American Vocal Acadamy in Perigueux, France. Mary resides with partner Andrew Bonacci in Western Massachusetts, where she is Professor of Voice at Westfield State University, and mom to 2 young boys.
