Style: Pop; Opera; Classical; Musical Theatre
Title: Voice Faculty, Capital University
Bio: "I am a supportive, encouraging teacher who uses a variety of approaches to help each singer realize his/her potential with maximum freedom and ease. Because the body is our instrument, we spend some lesson time attending to posture, often incorporating yoga or other kinds of stretches. Then we focus on breathing techniques and exercises, followed by warming up the voice through various vocalises. We then apply ourselves to songs, using the challenges presented in the music to grow technically. I am open to many styles of music, but I do ask that students work on some classical repertoire to help in building technique. Each lesson is focused on the student: what ideas, concepts, and techniques work best for her or him."
