Sharon Gross holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of North Texas with a certification in Choral Music Education to teach all-level K-12 and also has a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from University of North Texas with an emphasis in opera and choral music. She was a vocal student of Dr. Stephen Farish and Mr. Harold Heiberg. During her musical studies at UNT, Ms. Gross was a member of the UNT Madrigal Singers conducted by Dr. Robert Ottman and the UNT A cappella Choir, conducted by Mr. Frank McKinley. She performed with the UNT Choir at the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C., and also toured with the choir during her graduate studies to Poland, England, Holland, France and Belgium. She also studied voice in New York with Mr. Bill Schuman and sang professionally with the Ridgewood Singers and toured Monte Carlo, Germany, Paris and England performing with the Jazz Ensemble “Vocal Point.” She has performed and also directed operas and musicals throughout her career. Ms. Gross performed with the Dallas Opera Chorus, Fort Worth Opera Chorus and also performed with Fort Worth in the artist program. Ms. Gross sang with Robert Shaw Chorale in New York at Carnegie Hall during performances of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. Sharon Gross was a member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus under the direction of Mr. Joshua Habermann during 2014-2016. During the summer of 2014, Ms. Gross toured Spain and France with the Dallas Symphony Chorus as they performed the Mozart Requiem. Sharon Gross taught as a voice teacher and opera director at The Hockaday Girls School of Dallas. The voice students were involved in performing musicals within the school community and also performed the following opera presentations: La Voix Humaine, Suor Angelica, Hansel and Gretel and The Telephone. Voice students also competed in National Association of Teachers’ of Singing contests and TPSMEA (Texas Private School Music Educators’ Association) contests and events. Ms. Gross has also taught as a private vocal instructor at Dallas Baptist University and continued to maintain her private voice studio throughout her career. As a choral music educator and voice teacher, Ms. Gross was on staff at R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth and also Fort Worth Country Day College Preparatory School in Fort Worth. Many of her choral and vocal students participated in TMEA, UIL, TPSMEA and NATS competitions. She also taught applied private voice at the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. Many of her previous students have competed in the Texas All-State Choir Process and the district National Association of Teachers' of Singer Spring auditions.

Previous years, Ms. Gross served as the Chairman of the Performing Arts Department at Irving High School. She was the Director of Choirs and also served and assisted many choral students as a voice instructor. The A cappella Choir performed in the American Music Festival at the Meyerson Symphony Concert Hall, and the Irving High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble performed for many venues throughout the metroplex. Many of her students performed UIL solos and advanced to the state level of UIL Solo/Ensemble competition. During her tenure at Irving High School, Ms. Gross directed the vocalists, chorus, orchestra and served as the producer of the Performing Arts Musical productions. She conducted musicals during her tenure and had the opportunity to work with all students throughout the Irving High School community. This student performance opportunity was a school-wide project available to every student within Irving High School. The band, choir, orchestra, dance, theatre and visual arts students and staff were equal participants in this project. The venue served as a positive and exciting collaboration of all students and staff. During 2008-2009 Sharon Gross was awarded the honour of Irving High School Campus Teacher of the Year. She was also selected as the Irving Independent School District Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009. She currently works with voice students, parents and colleagues to promote the love of music. “The Arts provide so many wonderful opportunities for all of us. It is my wish to continue to assist and help all students throughout their journey and to instil a lifetime of love and passion for music.” Ms. Gross is currently on staff in the Music Department at the University of Dallas. She is an Adjunct Professor of Voice and Lyric Theater.
