Title: Voice teacher, Balme Music Studio, Concordia Vocal Academy
Bio: After a professional career performing 40+ leading soprano roles and specializing in the works of Verdi, I now have a private teaching studio in Middletown New Jersey, the Balme Studio of Music. I co-direct with my husband, John Balme, the Concordia Vocal Academy which includes the Concordia Chorale, an SATB chorus, and the Concordia Youth Chorale, an SSAA chorus which tours Europe every two years. A large part of both these groups is vocal training. John and I together offer the Concordia OperaLab, a college audition training program and introduction to acting and stage movement through opera scenes for teenagers. Our students are regularly accepted to the top conservatories and music schools in the country.
I have studied Body Mapping with Andover Educators and continue to research the science of voice production.
I hold degrees from the New England Conservatory and the Boyer College of Music at Temple University. My long time professional teacher was Armen Boyajian. I currently work with David Jones. I am the adjunct voice professor at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.
