Bio: Kristin Eklund Haverkampf, is a classically trained soprano and alumna of Oberlin Conservatory. While there she studied with renowned pedagogue, Richard Miller and performed in numerous recitals, operas and concerts. Upon her return to Chicago she continued her studies with Margaret Harshaw and Carmen Mehta. For over 20 years she has performed as a soloist, chorister and church musician. She was a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus for over a decade and is currently a soprano section leader and a frequently featured soloist with the Barrington-based Chicago Master Singers. In May of 2011, she was invited to be the soprano soloist for a performance of the Mozart: Vesperae solennes de confessore with the Chicago Master Singers and Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra under the baton their Music Director Alan Heatherington. Her current musical interests include a continued study of vocal pedagogy, as well as a passion for opera, art song, sacred choral music, liturgical song and musical theater.
