Bio: Trissa DiBenedetto Walter has received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Music from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Afterwards she went on to study with Mezzo Soprano Marianna Busching in Washington D.C. and later with Metropolitan Opera Soprano Sharon Christman. After singing in some small opera companies in and around Washington D.C. she was given the opportunity to move to Germany. She sang with the Pfalz Theatre in Kaiserslautern and studied with Grace Bumbry at the Mozarteum’s Summer Academy in Salzburg. After again relocating to Hawaii, she participated in Hawaii Opera Theatre’s artist program, the Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio, taking part in recitals, operas, and masterclasses. While in Hawaii, Trissa began studying vocology by receiving a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Hawaii. She continues to study vocology and vocal pedagogy and has received recognition from the National Center for Voice Studies as a vocologist. She has continued to teach all aspects of voice by training healthy singers to achieve their stated goals, and to help unhealthy singers to rehabilitate their voices to get back on track. She has continued to perform in concerts as a choral director and singer. Additionally, she has performed in local theatre and musical theatre. Her favorite roles to date are Marcellina from “Le Nozze di Figaro”, and Mother Abbess from “The Sound of Music”.
