Bio: Caroline Hatchett is a soprano as passionate about Rossini as she is about Sondheim. Her engagements as a featured soloist in Virginia, Kentucky, and throughout the state of Georgia include recital and onstage work in opera, oratorio, gospel, and in musical theatre. While earning her Masters of Music degree at Valdosta State University, she was pleased to have the opportunities to sing for Warren Jones and to premier a performance of Jocelyn Hagen’s Kiss song cycle. Mrs. French also performed the title role for a televised version of Neely Bruce’s Pyramis and Thisbe. Her most recent positions have been as a soloist for the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra’s 25th anniversary season, and with Peach State Summer Theatre as Vocal Director and Actor. Operatic roles include Madame Goldentrill (Impresario), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Cunegonde (Candide), Celie (Signor Deluso), and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia). Her favorite musical theatre appearances include Fiona (Brigadoon), Glady’s (42nd Street), and Mrs. Nordstrom (A Little Night Music). She was a member of The Sine Nomine Singers of Valdosta for five years, completing two European tours. In addition to her performance schedule, Mrs. French has been an adjunct faculty member for Valdosta State University’s Music and Theatre departments, as well as a music director / clinician for local high school chorus and drama departments. She currently serves as a Board Member for Lexington Children's Theatre and maintains a private studio in Lexington, KY.
