John Lariviere attended Bowling Green State University. He has taught private voice for nearly 20 years, specializing in musical theatre, audition/college/role prep., and the young professional. He teaches at Meyer Jewish Preparatory School and Confident Performance Coaching studios. is the previous Director of Education at Arts Garage, General Manager at the Plaza Theatre, and a Fine Arts Adjunct Teacher and Director of the Private Lesson Program at North Broward Preparatory School.
He has musically directed more than a dozen shows for children and teens at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Plaza Theatre and area High Schools and performing arts studios. He has also directed/taught performing arts Summer camps for 15 years. As a performer he has traveled the US performing at various professional theatres, appearing in more than 50 productions. He currently specializes in cabaret and concert work and regularly headlines at local clubs, restaurants and theatres. Cabaret Scenes Magazine dubbed him "a voice of the gods". In August of 2016, he performed for the second year at the Florida Cabaret Festival. He has sung live on TV on The Suncoast View (Channel 7 - ABC), and on the Live with Iris Acker show, and on the radio on KDW (97.5FM) and WLRN (91.3FM). Look for him as Theodore in the 2015 independent, horror film spoof Imaginary Movie, and as Robert in the 2016 DMOC web-series King of the Streets.
