Bio: Soprano Deborah Selig performs repertoire spanning music from the baroque to contemporary in opera, oratorio and art song across the United States. Ms. Selig is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of singers, currently serving on the voice faculties of Wellesley College, Brown University, and the summer Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Recent operatic highlights include Micaela in Carmen with Dayton Opera, Pamina in The Magic Flute with Boston Lyric Opera, Amphytrite in The Tempest with The Henry Purcell Society of Boston, Sybil Vane in Liebermann’s The Picture of Dorian Gray with Odyssey Opera, and Musetta in La Boheme with Central City Opera. Symphonic work has included Brahms’ Requiem with Buffalo Philharmonic, Bach Cantatas with Handel and Haydn Society, Haydn’s Creation with Harvard University Choirs and Handel’s Messiah with Rhode Island Philharmonic. Ms. Selig earned an Artist Diploma and Master of Music from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a BM/BA in Voice and English summa cum laude from The University of Michigan. She spent two seasons each as an Apprentice artist with Chautauqua Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Pittsburgh Opera; and was a fellow at both the Ravinia Festival Steans Institute and Tanglewood Music Center. www.deborahselig.com
