Bio: I have been teaching voice to children and adults for 20 years. Lessons are held at my studio in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY in Westchester County. I was on the faculty of The Master's School, Dobbs Ferry, for six years, and have taught voice, musical theater workshops, and diction at Greenwich House Music School, Oberlin, Yale, and CUNY Graduate Center. In addition to my degrees in classical vocal pedagogy, I am also a certified teacher of Somatic Voicework, a method for teaching popular genres and Broadway belt. My teaching is based on good breathing technique, which enables the voice to remain free of tension and develop in a healthy manner. My students perform in classical venues, musical theater productions, and as popular recording artists. My students have a strong say in what type of music and which pieces they would like to work on, and I guide them with appropriate technique and style. Private lessons are enhanced by courses in vocal physiology, basic keyboard skills, diction, repertoire, and performance. I emphasize enjoyment at all levels of singing--from the novice to the professional!
