Over the past fifteen years, Laura has successfully completed a number of written and practical exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music, including, most recently, the Grade 10 voice, Grade 8 piano, Basic Harmony, and Level 1 History examinations.

Laura currently holds the position of Music Director for the Addison Women's Choir in Cambridge, Ontario.

Since 2004, Laura has sung as both chorister and soloist with the Headwaters Concert Choir and, since January of 2018 with the Dufferin Concert Singers in her hometown of Orangeville, Ontario. She sang with the McMaster University Choir and the McMaster Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Rachel Rensink-Hoff, from 2013 until her graduation in 2016.

Laura's research focuses on the impact of involuntary childlessness on female singers, the effects of infertility on the female singing voice, and lifelong musical learning.

Since 2004, Laura has made a name for herself as a teacher of voice, piano, and theory in Orangeville and the surrounding area through her private teaching studio. Laura’s passion for learning and teaching, combined with her desire to give back to her community, also led her to a volunteer position as vocal coach in the vocal music class at Orangeville District Secondary School. She also arranged and performed in a solo voice recital to raise money for CHOICES Youth Shelter in Orangeville, and she has plans to continue to organize and participate in more of these ventures.

Laura currently enjoys her positions with Choral Canada as a member of the advocacy committee and as project coordinator for the Student Chapter. She is also a columnist for the Choirs Ontario newsletter, Dynamic.
