Bio: Steffi Holmes is a graduate of the University of Delaware where she received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. She received eight years of vocal training from the adjunct and professional staff of the University’s Music Department. While attending the University, she was a three-year member of the internationally award-winning UD Chorale, conducted by Dr. Paul Head, and a private voice student of Dr. Melanie DeMent. From these and other professors, she received extensive instruction and training in choral and solo vocal literature, vocal technique, choral conducting, and vocal pedagogy. Since experiencing a vocal injury and vocal rehabilitation, Steffi's knowledge of vocal disorders and injuries has expanded, along with her teaching technique and approach to vocal health. Recent study with Margaret Baroody, Sheryl Woods Olson, Kate Emerich-Gordon, and Rosemary Ostrowski have also enhanced the knowledge and offerings of Steffi's private studio. Steffi is the Director of Music Ministries at the Dover Air Force Base Catholic and Protestant Chapels and teaches students privately during the week. She is a founding member and soprano soloist with the Kent Chamber Choir of Delaware, and sings with her husband in their eponymous jazz/folk duo, Steffi and Tim.
