Performed professionally in classical ensembles and formed her own jazz trio.
Produced and recorded two CD"S: About Love and Where Angels Peep Through available digitally through I Tunes world wide.
Philosophy: The creative arts are the missing link in education. My participation in the Arts Literacy Project,developed by Brown University gave my life goals focus. The Performance Cycle Technique from the Project pair’s literature with artistic expression, helping students find the means of telling their own stories.
I apply the Performance Cycle Technique to all programs at Second Stage Studio. This technique provides teachers, artists, and youth leaders with the tools to engage students in a process of deep understanding by building a community of learners that centers on a text. Students respond to the text and demonstrate this knowledge through high quality performances and artistic presentations.
Mission: Second Stage Studio is designed to create a warm, friendly and engaging environment inviting each and everyone who enters to become inspired; to let go and let the spirit of creativity take hold of them. We believe that the creative arts are essential elements in education, in learning, in developing, in maturing. Students at Second Stage Studio are learning to express themselves via the written and spoken word taking the shape of prose, poetry, song, art and performance. They communicate; they contemplate; they collaborate; they create. They are Student Artists. They have been encouraged to tell their own stories and they are. We are learning from them.
