Bio: Amy Heumann absolutely loves teaching voice! She believes that every person deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of singing regardless of age or ability. She has a vibrant voice studio in Los Gatos, California serving over forty students ranging in age from ten to adult. She provides a strong foundation through classical training for all students. She specializes in musical theatre repertoire and has prepared students for and coached them through dozens of principal roles in community and school musicals. She has prepared students for college auditions which have contributed to acceptance by notable universities such as Brown, Duke, Vassar,Georgetown, Stanford, Berkeley, USC, Boston Conservatory, and Westminster Choir College. She has also worked extensively with the changing voices of boys and girls in early adolescence. She holds a bachelor of music in vocal/choral/general music and has continued to take post baccalaureate classes. She continues to study private voice and is an accomplished accompanist.She has over thirty years of experience and has directed high school, middle school, and church choirs. She has taught general music k-6, and drama and music theatre classes in the middle school. She currently acts as music director for regional youth theatre. She is a guest clinician and has served as an adjudicator for various regional choirs. She has been awarded Teacher of the Year in Phoenix, Arizona, and for the county of Santa Clara, California. She also, on occasion, finds the time to play principal roles in community theatre and lyric theatre in the Bay Area.
