Bio: Soprano Brandi N. Icard has performed and taught in the Charlotte area for the past three years. Before that she was a teacher and singer in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. She has been a principal artist with the Fort Worth Opera Company singing Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Curly’s Wife in Of Mice and Men, and Mother in Ahmal and the Night Visitors. Brandi has also taught voice and piano at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and McKinney Arts. Previously she appeared at Seagle Music Colony in Upstate New York for two seasons. In the summer of 2006, Brandi sang Fanny Felderman in the staged world premier of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Morning Star. With the Operafestival di Roma in Italy, she performed scenes and arias from The Barber of Seville with the International Chamber Ensemble Orchestra. She also appeared as the Queen of the Night in the festival’s main stage production of The Magic Flute. Brandi was previously on the faculty of the University of South Carolina Upstate where she was the Musical-Artist-in Residence and taught music and voice. She also was a voice teacher and coordinator of a satellite program with the Lawson Academy at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Brandi received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Bob Jones University in 2002 and her Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the Converse College Petrie School of Music in 2004. She was a District Winner in the 2006 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
