Coloratura soprano Amy Maples sings with such Colorado companies as Loveland Opera Theatre, Performance Now Theatre Company, Opera Colorado, Colorado Chamber Orchestra, Voices West, and Opera Theatre of the Rockies. Performing solos with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Kentucky, Colorado Chamber Orchestra, Ohio Light Opera, Parish House Baroque, and Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Amy is making her mark nationally in concert work as much as the operatic repertoire. Recent performances include Gilda (Rigoletto) at Piedmont Opera and the Mozart Requiem with The Colorado Chamber Orchestra. Amy received her M.M. from Florida State and her B.M. in Voice from Lee University in her home state of Tennessee.
As a voice teacher, Amy's philosophy is to "make you sound like you." She believes in cultivating an authentic and unaffected sound in the student, utilizing the student's natural timbre while enhancing it with appropriate support and space.
