Bio: Brianna Craw Krause is originally from Logan, Utah. She received her Bachelors degree in vocal performance from Utah State University, studying with Cindy Dewey. While attending school she performed many title roles with Utah State University Opera Theatre. She was the recipient of the Carolyn Tueller Lewis Award and was a Concerto Competition winner. Brianna continued her education and achieved her Masters in Music from the University of Michigan, studying with Shirley Verrett. While in Michigan she performed roles with University of Michigan Opera Theatre and was the featured soloist for several oratorio works with the University of Michigan choirs and symphony. Brianna was also chosen to represent the University of Michigan in a recital at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. She has performed with Michigan Opera Academy, Handmade Opera Company, Utah Festival Opera Company, and Utah Opera Society. Recently, she performed the solos for the African Sanctus in the Mountain West Songfest, the soprano solos in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Handel’s Messiah with the American Festival Chorus and symphony. In the summer of 2010, Brianna made it to the National Finals in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. She was rated in the top six singers in the Nation.
