Bio:

Ms. Cooper Sedek has run her own private studio since 2010, welcoming in voice and piano students of all ages, with a particular focus on supporting the learning needs of young and neurodiverse musicians. Her students are regularly chosen for theatrical leading roles, choral solos, and collegiate music programs. A sought after festival adjudicator and consultant, she has presented workshops on vocal health, audition and college preparation, voice science, song analysis, and business development for private teachers. She is an Officer on the Board of Directors for the New York Singing Teacher’s Association (NYSTA), presently serving as the Secretary. She served on the Production Board of Light Opera of New Jersey and is a member of NATS and MTNA.

She fulfilled her Master of Music degree “with Distinction” in 2012 at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she had also completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance Summa Cum Laude in 2010. While pursuing her degrees, she served as a part-time lecturer for the Music History and Vocal Departments, directed and choreographed scenes for the Mason Gross Opera Workshop, and was the recipient of the Olga Marsano Burian Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music. Private teachers and coaches include Lauran Corson, Judith Nicosia, Pamela Gilmore and Mary Pinto. She had her Asian professional debut in 2012 as a soloist on the televised program Wait for Me in Beijing, China, and her European professional debut in the summer of 2017 in Vienna, Austria as the Soprano Soloist for Mozart's Missa Brevis in C, K. 220 with MidAm International Productions.  Her award-winning performance (Best Supporting Actress, Kelsey Theatre) Sharon Graham in the Pennington Players production of Terrence McNally's Master Class, she delivered a "spectacular acting and vocal performance ... Cooper's performance of Verdi's 'Vieni t'affretta' was notably sung with ease and precision" (Stage Magazine). She performed as soloist on numerous occasions with Light Opera of New Jersey, Central Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Choral Art Society of New Jersey, and the Highland Park Community Chorus. Her solo concert repertoire includes Orff's Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn's Psalm 42, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem and Liebeslieder Waltzer, Handel's Messiah, and the World Premieres of Martin Sędek's Lux Noctis and Four Seasons. Her operatic stage credits include La Prima Sorella/La Sorella Cercatrice (Suor Angelica), Noémie (Cendrillon), Lucy (The Beggar's Opera), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Flora (Flora, US Premiere). She performed at the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival and the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Greve in Chianti, Italy and in master classes with notable artists include Roger Vignoles and Frederica von Stade.  EileenCooperSedek.com
