Bio: Savanna Sokolnicki (Soprano), a native of Toronto, Canada, is confidently making her way in the operatic and singing world. Sokolnicki recently completed her doctoral studies at the University of Kentucky, she also holds a Master’s Degree in vocal performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and a Bachelor’s Degree in voice from Eastman in 2008. She has many credits to her performing career including most recently, the role of Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera with University of Kentucky’s Opera Theatre as well as the role of Donna Elvira in Orvieto, Italy through the Opera in Orvieto program. Other performing credits include the role of Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette (UK Opera Theatre), Lily in Eastman Opera Theatre’s production of The Secret Garden, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos (Eastman Opera Theatre), Freulein Schneider in Cabaret (Eastman Opera Theatre), Olga in The Merry Widow (Eastman Opera Theatre) and Adele in Die Fledermaus (AIMS in Graz). Sokolnicki recently presented two successful recitals; one focused on the German lieder surrounding the literary character of Gretchen from Goethe’s Faust as well as a chamber recital featuring the works of renowned Canadian composer John Greer. Savanna Sokolnicki currently has a thriving private studio and teaches classical voice at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
