Bio: Bio: Soprano Lauren A. Cook has established herself as an intelligent and sensitive performer of art song, opera, and oratorio in the Boston and MetroWest areas. Recent opera credits include Der Sandmann in Hansel und Gretel in Opera del West’s 10th Anniversary Gala as well as appearances with Anthem Theatre Company at the Boston Center for the Arts, Greater Worcester Opera, and Riverside Theatre Works. Especially dedicated to preserving the place of art song and vocal works in the traditional chamber music repertoire, Ms. Cook co-founded the Artemis Chamber Music Society in 2014 with pianist Aleksandra Lvin. She has collaborated extensively with Iris Winds, MetroWest Choral Artists, and frequently works alongside contemporary opera composer Dan Shore. As en educator, Lauren encourages her students to develop healthy and technically solid instruments while understanding the musical, artistic, and expressive capabilities of the voice. She is comfortable across a number of genres, with a focus on classical singing and musical theatre, and is on the faculty of the New School of Music in Cambridge, MA, Bedford Youth Performing Company in Bedford, NH, and with the Harvard University Summer Chorus. She has received advanced pedagogy training at the Shenandoah University CCM
