Title: Adjunct Professor of Voice
Bio: Kelly Fiona Lynch was most recently featured this summer at Opera Theater's Summerfest, where she performed the role of Miss Darlington in Night Caps. For Undercroft Opera, Kelly has been heard as Madame Larina and Tatiana (cover) in Eugene Onegin, as well as the title roles in Verdi’s Aida, Bellini’s Norma, and Puccini’s Suor Angelica. She has also sung the title roles of Lucia di Lammermoor and La Traviata for Erie Opera Theater. Kelly has performed in Italy and Central America, and has conducted masterclasses in San Jose, Costa Rica.
As a soloist, she has sung with the Erie Chamber Orchestra, Pittsburgh Philharmonic, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Westmoreland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, where she sang Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder and the title role in Bizet’s Carmen. Oratorio repertoire she has performed includes the soprano solos in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Verdi’s Requiem and Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder. Kelly recently covered the title roles in Opera Theater of Pittsburgh's production of Strauss' Ariadne on Naxos, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, as well as Lizbeth, by Thomas Albert for Microscopic Opera. Based in Pittsburgh, Kelly is on the faculty at both Chatham and Seton Hill Universities.
Kelly is the Founder and Director of the Vocal Recital Series at Chatham University, and Chatham Concert Opera, which will begin its sixth year this fall. This series features local opera singers in performances of the song and performances of entire operas in concert. Those included are the Riddle Scene from Turandot, excerpts from Wagner’s Ring cycle, Verdi's Don Carlo, Aida, and La forza del destino.
Upcoming performances include Orchestral Songs of Richard Strauss with Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire in Costa Rica (TBA), and at Chatham, Leonora in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera and Chrysostemis in Strauss’s Elektra.
