Tenor Eiji Miura, a native of San Francisco, is an active and sought-after Boston-based singer and teacher. He holds an M.M. in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory, during which he completed studies with the Speech Language Pathologists and Singing Voice Specialists of The Voice Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in vocal health and hygiene. His students have gone on to study at the country's leading colleges and conservatories, and have sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Handel + Haydn Society, the Boston Lyric Opera, and other reputable organizations.
As a performer, Eiji regularly appears in concerts, operas, musicals, and in the sacred music scene in and around the Boston area, and also records vocals for video game soundtracks. In 2017, Eiji joined world-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer for the New England portion of his international tour. This season, he is engaged to sing with Odyssey Opera, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Opera Project and Opera in the Heights.
In addition to being a member of the Boston Conservatory faculty teaching diction, Eiji is also an Affiliated Artist and member of the Emerson Program teaching faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a member of the Nation Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Boston chapter of NATS.
