Title: Voice teacher- Marlowe Studios
Bio: I am an Idaho girl with a Tennessee heart. I have been teaching private lessons for 20 years and taught high school choir for 8 years in Knoxville TN. I have consistent success with All East and All State choir students, and am very passionate about musical theatre.
I started taking private voice lessons when I was 15. This led to a music scholarship at Idaho State University where I received my Bachelors in Music Education, as well as a Bachelors in Vocal Performance. I also met and married my husband, Phillip Marlowe. Full scholarships brought us to Knoxville, Tennessee for graduate school. As a member of the Knoxville Opera Studio, I received my Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee. After many competitions and 3 years of professional singing, I became a mother. Eleven months later I started teaching choir and directing musicals at Karns High School.
Currently I maintain a studio of 20 voice students called Marlowe Studios. Students participate in two recitals per year and one Master Class with a guest artist. I have four beautiful children and am the proud teacher of countless incredible students including Caty Davis, 2017 Miss Tennessee (top 12 Miss America) and Emily Ann Roberts, THE VOICE season 9, and Lee Pinkston, 2019 HS Male Musical Theatre National NATS, 2nd place winner.
My success as a teacher stems from my love for singing. Recently my most treasured moment on stage was singing Fantine with my husband as Jean Valjean, and daughter as little Cosette in Les Miserables with Tennessee Valley Players.
