Bio: A native of Waxhaw, NC, tenor Nicholas Pierle is known for his “skillful and delightful” lyrical singing and comedic timing on stage. Pierle has garnered recognition at the Mid-Atlantic Regional level of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition and was a qualifier for the 2017 National Competition. He has performed in venues throughout the United States and Europe including St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Italy, various locations in southern United Kingdom, and other venues throughout Prague, Czech Republic. Most recently, Pierle has performed the role of Beadle Bamford with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival’s production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He has also sung the roles of The Lord Chancellor in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe and Mr. Erlanson in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music with the East Carolina University Opera Theatre. Most recently, Pierle has been a featured soloist in the Carolina Catholic Chorale’s performance of Schubert’s Mass in G and other selected choral works, the Greenville Choral Society’s performances of Michael Haydn’s Requiem in C, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Dan Forrest’s Lux: The Dawn From On High and the High Point University Music Department’s performance of Handel’s Messiah. Pierle received the Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Performance from High Point University and the Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting, Vocal Performance, and Vocal Pedagogy from East Carolina University. Pierle currently teaches private voice lessons and K-12 choir in Charlotte, NC.
