Bio: Lauren Corcoran Emrich has been teaching privately since 2010. She has taught in the Pittsburgh, Youngstown, and Akron Areas. She taught voice at The University of Akron, PYCO School of Music, the Moon Area High School's After School Lesson Program, The Stage Door Dance and Theatre Arts Academy, the Dana Vocal Performance Clinic, Shenango High School, and her home studio. ​ She is sought after for coachings of musical theater productions and PMEA voice festival materials. Her students have participated in PMEA festivals (Honors, District, Region, and State), Jr. Mendelssohn Choir, Pittsburgh Youth Chorus (formerly Children's Festival Chorus), OMEA solo and ensemble (1s in Class A ,B, and C), Poland Ohio Idol (First and Third place winners), talent shows, pageants, and have signed with talent agencies (Big Mouth Talent Agency Chicago). Her students have also been accepted to Penn State University, Cederville University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Kent State University, Slippery Rock University, and Youngstown State University. Although Lauren teaches students of all ages, she specializes in classical singing for the young voice. She is trained in English, German, Italian, and French diction. To further her language studies, Lauren traveled to Italy to study the Italian language and to perform in the summer of 2013 with Oberlin in Italy's concert artist. Lauren also has a strong background in musical theater. She studied musical theater voice, dance, and acting with Pittsburgh Musical Theater. She also studied acting with OperaWorks at their Advanced Artist program in Los Angeles, California.
