Bio: Amanda Balltrip is an operatic soprano and voice instructor for McNeil Music Center and the Kentucky Center’s Governor’s School for the Arts. She performs locally and regionally with companies such as Flashback Theater, The Lexington Theatre Company, and The National Chorale. Amanda is a alumna of the University of Kentucky, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in vocal performance. She is the 2008 winner of the Kentucky District of the Metropolitan National Council Auditions and the Alltech Opera Scholarship Competition, which provided her with full tuition and stipend for her graduate studies.
Upcoming engagements include being a Guest Artist with Morehead State University as Rosalinda in their production of Die Fledermaus, an album release of Angela Rice’s Thy Will Be Done with the National Chorale (Roven Records), and facilitating a Desire Map Workshop for High School Singers interested in pursuing music in college. She proudly serves as Vice President for Watershed Arts Alliance in Somerset, KY and believes in the transformative power of the arts.
