Bio: Alyssa Wills holds an MM in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California and a BM in Vocal Performance from California State University, Long Beach. She has extensive experience teaching all voice types from children to adults. She has run her own private studio for the past seven years, with her students winning local competitions and performing lead roles in school shows.
During her time as a masters student and as a Graduate Certificate candidate at USC, she worked as a student instructor, teaching young men and women of all levels. She maintained the highest student retention rate from semester to semester, helping her students gain confidence in their performing, no matter their level of experience. She was active in community outreach as the group leader of "The Hollywood Trio" through the Gluck Fellowship program, and is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
As a performer, Ms. Wills was most recently seen performing in a self-created program of songs and letters of Emily Dickinson through Pasadena’s Boston Court Emerging Artist Recital Series. Earlier this year, she was a featured soprano in Quartetto and Opera in the Park with the Palm Springs Opera Guild. Last year, she performed as Micaëla in a concert production of “Carmen” with the Los Angeles-based Opera Buffs, Inc., as well as performing with The Industry and LA Opera’s Education and Outreach Program. Other performances include Fiordiligi in LTD Opera’s Così fan tutte, Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, and Marthe Marker in a premier reading of Frau Schindler, both at USC. She has been fortunate to spend past summers at the Tanglewood Music Festival, as well as the Aspen Music Festival. She has also been honored to be a District Winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a finalist in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition, and the third place winner in the NATS Gwendolyn Roberts Young Artist Competition.
