Kay Kathleen Johnson

Bio: Kay Johnson was born and raised in northern California. She attended Occidental College where she studied ‘cello and also studied choral music with Howard Swan. Her undergraduate degree is from SUNY at Stony Brook in New York where she studied cello with Timothy Eddy and choral music with Greg Smith. Ms. Johnson has done graduate work in musicology at Stony Brook and in education at Illinois State University. She has sung in numerous ensembles and studied voice with Elizabeth Linnartz. Ms Johnson was Teacher of the Year in 2015 at Carrboro High where she taught until 2018.
