Bio:

Rita holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, a Master of Education in Music Ed Leadership from Carthage College, and a Master of Music in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Carthage College. In 2003, she was the winner of the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) freshman category. She taught as a choral and performing arts teacher in Kenosha Unified for 14 years, and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Carthage College, where she also teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Music Education. In 2013, her women's choir was chosen by blind audition to perform at the state convention, where she was awarded Young Choral Director of the Year by the Wisconsin Choral Director's Association. She is currently working on her DMA at Boston University

Rita, also an accomplished pianist, has taught private voice and piano lessons for 15 years, served as the Music Director at Mt. Carmel Parish for 15 years, accompanied for numerous local choirs, and Co-directed the KUSD District-Wide Middle School shows; The Lion King Jr., Once on this Island Jr., and The Little Mermaid Jr. Rita holds professional memberships with NATS, WCDA, and NAfME, while also serving as a Level 2 Adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association. She resides in Kenosha with her husband, Ben, and their three children; Vinny (11), Dominic (9), and Gioia (5).
