Bio: Ms. Lauren D'Ottavio is a performer, educator, and entrepreneur based in New York City. Her studio for private voice lessons is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. D'Ottavio follows a student-centered approach and creates a welcoming, engaging environment for her students of all ages and levels. She is currently accepting dedicated music students for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semester who are looking to study Classical voice, Opera, and/or Music Theater. In addition to private lessons, D’Ottavio provides students with multiple performing opportunities around the New York Metropolitan area. In addition to teaching lessons through her private studio, Ms. D’Ottavio is an instructor at several music schools and conservatories throughout Manhattan. She is a member of the Conservatory Faculty at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School and teaches academic music courses at Regis High School on the Upper East Side. Ms. D’Ottavio is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, having earned her master's degree in Music & Music Education with P-12 Initial Certification in New York State. She studied Vocal Pedagogy with renowned teacher and vocal pedagogue, Dr. Jeanne Goffi-Fynn. D’Ottavio earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Bard College and the Conservatory of Music in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Professionally, D’Ottavio is an active lyric soprano, with recent and upcoming performances in the U.S. and abroad. D’Ottavio most recently performed the role of Nanetta from Verdi's Falstaff in July 2019 with the International Opera Performing Experience opera company in Mercatello sul Metauro, Italy. Other recent operatic roles include Pamina from Die Zauberflöte and Countess from Le Nozze di Figaro. Recent Musical Theater roles include Olive from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and Cinderella from “Into the Woods.” Recent oratorio roles include soprano soloist in Stabat Mater by G.B. Pergolesi and Pie Jesu from the Faurè Requiem.
