Bio: Julianne Olson has performed in over a dozen countries as a professional singer. She has performed with such companies as Lyric Opera of Chicago in the world premiere of The Property, Hungarian National Theater of Szeged and Pac in The Crucible, Princeton Festival in Threepenny Opera and concertized with Ashville Lyric Opera, Seattle International Artists Series, in concert with Ravinia throughout Europe and the west coast, the Puccini Gala at Rose Theater, Lincoln Center, Peoria Symphony as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and throughout South Korea, China and Indonesia. Julianne has twice been awarded from the Metropolitan Opera National Council and has performed such roles as Butterfly in Madame Butterfly, Mimi in La Boheme, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Antonia in Tales of Hoffman, and Tatiana in Eugene Onegin. Most recently, Julianne has sung the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd at Triad Stage, Musetta in La Boheme with Opera Roanoke and Bolcom’s Cabaret Songs with the UNCG Symphonic Band in Greensboro, NC. Julianne is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists. The soprano holds degrees from Boston Conservatory (BM Voice Performance), New Jersey City University (MM Opera Performance), Indiana University (Performer’s Diploma), and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (DMA Voice Performance and Voice Pedagogy). Currently, Julianne is an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Elon University. Previously, Julianne was the Coordinator of the Contemporary Vocal Arts Program and full-time Lecturer of Voice in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has also been a guest teacher in Malawi, Africa, Busan and Seoul South Korea, and Surabaya, Indonesia. Additionally, Julianne has taught voice at Radford University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
