Bio: Ms. Bennish is a professional singer and voice instructor residing in Long Beach, California. She is a voice teacher for children, adults, and seniors. Working with singers, teachers, motivational speakers, and other professionals who rely on their voice to communicate, she helps eliminate voice fatigue caused by incorrect usage of the speaking and singing voice.
\nHarriet works with both amateurs and professionals to IMPROVE TONE QUALITY, EXPAND RANGE, and INCREASE BREATH CONTROL and VOLUME of both singers and speakers.
\nMs. Bennish attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, and received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice and Performance from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Early on in her career she was selected as a quarter-finalist in the Los Angeles Regional Metropolitan Opera auditions.
\nMs. Bennish also holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and has tapped into those skills necessary in working with a diverse population. Harriet teaches a very popular “Voice Class for Seniors” through Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine, with her oldest student being 90 years old!
\nShe has performance experience in opera, musical theater, sacred, oratorio, cantorial music, and the recital stage. For nearly ten years, Ms. Bennish was the soprano soloist and section leader for the widely acclaimed “Long Beach Chorale.”
\nMost recently, during a 2 year run, Harriet performed over 300 shows at the American Girl Place in Los Angeles performing in the “American Girls Revue. In addition to her performance and teaching schedule, she is the featured soloist with a Long Beach Klezmer Band called “The Shtetl Menschen”. Ms. Bennish also accepts invitations to perform for non-profit organizations.
