Bio: With an eclectic range of experience Kristin finds herself hired for a variety of engagements throughout the year. As a singer her talents and training varies from classical styles such as opera, oratorio, and art song, to more contemporary genres such as musical theater, pop, and jazz. Recently Kristin has transitioned from Lyric Soprano to Lyric Mezzo roles and is excited about the prospect of embarking on a new fach! Regardless of repertoire Kristin embraces the voice as a living, breathing instrument, and through that, has had the pleasure of serving as a conduit for the composers she performs. ​ In the short time Kristin has been in Boston she has held roles with esteemed professional companies such as Emmanuel Music (The Beggar’s Opera), Opera del West (Cendrillon), and looks forward to her next professional engagement with Boston Opera Collaborative’s company in their annual “Opera Bites”. Kristin was also an active onstage performer through her Master’s program at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. Most recently she was seen as Baba (The Medium, Menotti), Manja (Countess Maritza, Kálmán) and covering the role of Cinna (Lucio Silla, Mozart). Her graduate opera scenes credits include Cenerentola (Cenerentola, Rossini) and Beatrice (The Inquisitive Women, Wolf-Ferrari). Kristin's next live performance will be with the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra as the "soldier" in their social distanced production of L'Histoire du soldat (Stravinsky). ​ Named the “Nancy P. Marriott Scholar” Kristin received her Masters in Voice Performance this past May from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with emphasis in Opera and Musical Theatre from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She currently studies voice with Carol Mastrodomenico who also serves as a mentor for her independent study in Vocal Pedagogy. In addition to her life as a performer Kristin fills the remainder of her time teaching music. This year Kristin was thrilled to be hired on as an Adjunct Voice Professor with the Performing Arts Faculty at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. She also teaches voice and piano virtually through her private studio. ​ Kristin firmly believes that her duty as both a performer and teacher is to give people a voice. Whether it’s serving as the composer’s voice itself or encouraging others to find their own, the world we live in needs more people to speak up, sing out, and be heard.
