Bio: Joshua Cook is a multi-disciplined performer and educator, working with singers, actors, and pianists in many styles and skill levels.
Joshua holds a degree in Opera Directing from the University of Cincinnati, a Master's of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor's of Music in Voice Performance from The Ohio State University.
Joshua teaches from a strong foundational basis developing students' kinesthetic awareness to breath and energy with key interactions around text and emotional connection.
Equally comfortable as a performer and coach, Joshua has performed with classical groups such as Cincinnati Opera, Opera Columbus, Seagle Festival, & Capriccio Columbus as well as regional theatre with Short North Stage.
Joshua holds singing awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Opera Columbus, and The Ohio State University.
Joshua maintains an active vocal and dramatic coaching studio, focusing on lyric diction, emotional connection, text work, how music informs our breathing, and the development of the operatic industry in America.
