Bio:

Nick Harmantzis is an innovative music educator, voice teacher, and choir director based in the Philadelphia area. He is passionate about developing not just great singers, but smart singers—performers who understand healthy vocal technique, are musically literate, and can convey the emotional and artistic intent of a piece with authenticity.

Nick has taught K–12 general and choral music in both Pennsylvania and California and currently serves as Vocal Music Teacher at the Center for Performing and Fine Arts in West Chester. He is also the owner of Community Through Song and Stage, a voice studio and youth musical theater program based out of Footlighters Theater in Berwyn and his private voice studio in King of Prussia. As a classically trained tenor, Nick has performed a range of operatic roles including Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Apollo in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo. He has a love for the works of Gilbert & Sullivan and spent three summers performing with the Cornell Savoyards in Ithaca, NY.

Nick holds an M.A.T. in Music Education from the University of the Arts, an M.M. in Voice Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and a B.M. in Voice Performance from Ithaca College. He is an OperaWorks 2015 alum. In 2023, Nick received the PMEA Citation of Excellence Award. His choirs have been featured in performances at Temple University and selected to perform at the PMEA Annual In-Service Conference. He is an active member of NATS, PMEA, and ACDA. He also serves on the board of Footlighters theater. Nick lives in King of Prussia with his wife, Lacey, and their long-haired miniature dachshund, Liesel.
